I was born and raised in Chico, CA.  My family surrounds itself in the biblical teachings of Jesus Christ.  Our standards and beliefs are unwavering, as they are set in doctrines that shall never pass away.  Our patriotism is fixed in the ideals that our great country can only remain great so long as its foundations remain unchanged as well.  Our first President wisely reminded our nation that Religion and Morality are our societies only sure pillars of strength.  America must remain with its foundation.  The foundation of a nation of many, placed under the banner of "One", "One Nation Under God."

Many years ago, while at college, I stepped into my very first voting booth.  What a feeling.  How patriotic I felt.  It was a lasting memory. Mostly, I remember it as a moment that I decided to never again vote without first preparing.  How was I to know what to vote for or who would lead our government best.  I had done nothing to prepare.  I was faced with a ballot that had dozens of options and I had to admit that I mostly guessed or left some selections blank.  I remember thinking, "Hey, why isn't there a (D) or an (R) next to everyone's name.  I felt helpless to do the right thing.  In years to come I became much more involved with voting.  I later learned from one of our founders, Noah Webster, that I should not be waiting until election year to begin deciding how I should vote, but rather we as electors should be working to influence who and what will be printed on our ballot.

Our greatest resource is prayer, but our hands must also be unfolded and grasp the pen.  Letters became my most cherished method of research.  I began writing candidates and those in public office and was pleased to discover that they began to write back.  A few letters in the beginning quickly grew to mass emails and questionnaires offering personal support and promotion based on responses and positions.  I have built a method of contact that has helped me gain a perspective on candidates and voting that gave me an edge and confidence I once lacked.  Each election, I work diligently to uncover positions and beliefs of our candidates and the intentions, authors, and loop holes in legislation, propositions, and local measures.

I implore you as fellow electors to know your ballot before entering a booth.  Know why you are voting and not just what sounds good.  If you lack the time and the knowledge, then I hope you will consider my work that is both prayed over, and educated by response to letters and research.
